The only permanent solution in these cases is to surgically remove the wisdom teeth under question.

Wisdom teeth removal is always performed under anesthesia. Certain dentists prefer local anesthesia over general anesthesia. The type of anesthesia that the dentist will use will depend on the condition and the extent of impaction. The local anesthetic preferred by most dentists either Xylocaine. For general anesthesia, nitrous oxide is generally used. There are also other anesthetics that are administered via the intravenous route or orally in the form of pills.

In some cases, there may be breakage of the root during the extraction. In such cases, the extraction procedure may take longer periods of time.
