Everyone at CLC knows we are all a part of something special. The Development office has the responsibility of sponsoring and maintaining school events/activities, managing fundraising efforts and fostering alumni relationships. As is the nature of private education, tuition is never enough to cover expenses. The Development office at CLC is the creative force behind our community building efforts; simply put, "Development" is a fancy word for "growth." By working together, we can secure the necessary funds to ensure that CLC continues to grow and maintain its high standards of excellence.
We believe there is an opportunity for every family to be involved in the CLC community from students to parents, from alumni to grandparents. There are many ways to contribute to the CLC community and all levels of giving are appreciated. Should your contribution be monetary or a donation of your valuable time, every contribution makes a difference because every person makes a difference. After all, it is our amazing community that makes CLC such a warm and special place to learn.

The Annual Fund is the most critical measure to secure the necessary funds that bridge the gap between tuition and expenses. A yearly campaign is run to rally the efforts of our current families , friends and alumni to raise funds to support CLC. The funds secured from the Annual Fund have in the past gone toward building maintenance, playground renovation, technology labs, and disaster relief (flooding etc).
More than a just a collection of gifts, the Annual Fund is a catalyst for turning individual generosity into a collective energy. It represents the dynamic interaction of people working together to achieve great things in the name of educating children in a diverse educational community.

The annual "Bid and Buy" auction is an amazing event produced every year by our talented and energetic PTN, The Development Office and the fabulous CLC teachers. Literally hundreds of gifts are donated by local merchants which, along with spectacularly creative products hand made by the exceptional CLC students, are made available to "bid on" and hopefully "buy." In the past we have had auctioned off plane tickets, hotel stays, and dinners for 10 at fabulous DC restaurants. All proceeds go directly to supporting the educational efforts of CLC.
The Auction is truly the most enjoyable way to support CLC and every year Jenny and the Auction team outdo their previous years decorations. So leave the kids at home -- the auction is for grown-ups only!-- bring your friends or make some new friends. Annual events such as the Auction, are more than just a great way to raise funds, they also help build tradition. In Judaism, tradition and community are fundamental to our culture; at CLC we hope that offering annual events enforces our commitment to tradition and opens the doors to a strong community.

Recycling
Help Save the environment AND raise money for your child's education for FREE! If you have old cell phones and or printer cartridges at home or work, send them in your child's backpack and we'll take care of the rest!
Shop and Earn
Many retailers participate in programs that give a percentage of your everyday spending to schools. Click here for a list of easy, NO COST, ways to help CLC. Enrollment in many of these programs is as easy as filling out a form on a web site, its completely free to your family and CLC reaps a steady benefit. Everyone wins with Shop and Earn programs.
Service/Product Fundraisers
CLC offers many service-oriented fundraisers. You participation in special sales events helps CLC too! Examples of service/product fundraisers are:

CLC is fortunate to have a dedicated and energetic Parent Teacher Network who host a number of events throughout the year. For example, the PTN hosts the annual Fall Picnic and Spring Carnival.

The Annual Raffle
Every year CLC hosts a raffle for a major ticket item. In the past items such as a plasma tv with surround sound have been raffled off. Raffle ticket sales are a quick and easy way to raise money for CLC.
The Parent Teacher Network (PTN) is a tireless force of dedicated members who work to strengthen the CLC community in various ways. While PTN members are active participants in fundraising events, they are also responsible for organizing room parents, special classroom events, book fairs and teacher appreciation. We're lucky to have such a warm and inviting group as the PTN at CLC--there is truly a place for everyone in the PTN!
